Build a schedule around the work
Put every job step in the order the work needs. Set its start date and owner in Schedule.
See the next due date in the list and the full job on the timeline. The crew calendar shows each person’s active assignments.
Keep the team current when dates move
Link work that must happen in sequence. When a date changes, review the work and people that follow.
Keep the reason for a change with the job. Daily logs, photos, and RFIs give your team the context.
Order materials on time
Link each material group to the scheduled work it supports. PM updates the order-by date when Schedule changes.
Turn reviewed takeoff quantities into material needs. Keep purchase orders, delivery photos, and received quantities with the job.
Keep Schedule useful through closeout
Update Schedule as the job changes. Clients see the items you publish, while the crew sees assigned work.
Start with Portal Basic for three active projects and three team seats. It includes 80 ready-to-edit starter templates.
Willow Creek example
In a Willow Creek remodel, framing starts on Day 52. A material group needs 14 supplier days and 3 ordering days, so PM shows Day 35 as the order-by date. If framing moves to Day 58, PM moves the order-by date to Day 41. Check supplier timing and site readiness before you order.
